Lemala Mara Camp - North Serengeti
July - October
***/*
The 12 tents of Lemala Mara Tented Camp are set up under large Euclea trees in the heart of the best game viewing area of the Northern Serengeti between July and October. It’s very close to the Mara River, but yet the camp is far enough away to remain discreet and not interrupt wildlife behavior as the wildebeest mass along the steep banks during their frantic crossing on their way north to the Maasai Mara.
This a solid high-mid camp with 12 spacious tents each with 2 queen beds which makes it a particularly great option for families with children sharing with parents.
Number of rooms: 12
Style : Under Canvas Mobile
Activities: game drives, sundowners, walking, balloon safari
Recommended for all especially families and combines well with other Lemala camps at Ngorongoro and Ewanjan.

Each glass-fronted expansive suite has a king-sized bed (twin beds available) with fine linens and decor to offset the wilderness just beyond the canvas walls. Sayari includes two mess areas, so you can always find a tranquil, intimate spot and benefit from considerate, personal service. Each has a peaceful lounge and romantic indoor and outdoor dining areas. Recommended for campers who like a little luxury but want to keep within budget.
Lamai Camp - North Serengeti
*****
Lamai Serengeti sits tucked amongst the rocks of Kogakuria Kopje in the far North of the Serengeti with panoramic views of the surrounding landscape, just a few miles from where the wildebeest cross the Mara River. For roughly a quarter of the year, between late July and October, this is where you'll find the migration.
Each of the rooms are designed to fit into the complex geometry of the kopje and to make the most of this sensational location, its views and its natural space and light. At Lamai Serengeti there are just 12 rooms in all. These are split between two entirely separate lodges, the Main Lodge of 8 rooms and the smaller private lodge of 4 rooms, each lodge having a pool. The private lodge is configured perfectly for families with younger children.
Each site has been carefully thought out. Firstly and most importantly, with the elements in mind, to take maximum advantage of the view, the sun, the wind and even the rain, welcome when it comes.
The rooms - a clever blend of canvas, plaster and natural poles have views for miles and a light airy feel with all the comforts and more.
Lamai is a magical camp that loses none of the connection to the nature outside because of the open and airiness of the rooms.
Number of rooms: 12
Family: 1
Style : Luxury Bush Camp/Lodge
Activities: game drives, dawn balloon ride, guided walks, pool
Ellie says, "A very unique and special camp that melds into the natural environment seamlessly and respectfully; a true safari-lovers paradise."
Recommended for families, honeymooners, romantics, organic souls and believers in magic
